Opuntia cactus botanical plate with flowers and fruit poster

Prickly pear poster, “DESERT PEAR” botanical plate

This botanical plate is devoted entirely to the opuntia, better known as the prickly pear. It shows its flat, smooth pads stacked in a column, its yellow flowers and red fruit perched along the edges of the stems, and beside them a cut fruit revealing its flesh. The illustration, in clean flat color, stands out against a pale pink sky above a dune of ocher sand. The green of the pads, the yellow of the flowers and the red of the fruit form a trio of bold colors. The title “DESERT PEAR” accompanies this vertical poster.

A cactus poster for the kitchen or office

Its light background and bold colors suit a kitchen, office, entryway or bright bathroom. The vertical size hangs near a window or above a shelf full of succulents. It pairs happily with terracotta, light wood, white and sand tones, for an interior with a southern feel. Together with other botanical plates, it makes a herbarium wall. It will delight a cactus collector, a lover of arid landscapes, or anyone who tasted prickly pear while traveling.
